Hi guys,
I've seen a lot of complaining for almost every single box
Slinger/Ilink/Kbox/Nfusion/Sonicview/Etc
What a lot of people don't realize is that something just happened, a new encryption scheme, just made everything a lot harder / more complex. I know I know, you did realize it. That's fine, but do you know how hard it is running one of these servers, and the risk the owner takes to do so? Sure their making money, would you want to get a lawsuit that looked like one several other companies have got? I myself wouldn't, but there's always gonna be that hungry person out there waiting to get piece of the pie, and how much money do you think is really involved for everyone? More or less this is way too much knowledge for 1 person. It's a team of people, and everyone is taking a portion of it. When 1 company goes down, 3 more will pop back up. You are going to see a lot of interesting changes in the future. This is testing, and it doesn't mean you get anything for free. Testing costs money, if you don't have that money, then you should do what dish network told you to do, stop wasting your money on boxes and sub. Who's to know dish network doesn't actually run some of these companies themselves?
Before you guys rant on about how crappy the stability of any server is, realize that some of these boxes were never meant to do what your doing, and even if they were, the technology you have is so new and advanced, of course there is going to be problems, your doing something dish network couldn't even do for the 28 years they've been running. Opening a thread and ranting about how horrible IKS is, IS NOT GOING TO HELP!
Think as if you were the server operator for one of these IKS boxes, and something was changed, to where you couldn't get the network back, the card share back, or some other problem, how would you fix it? Perhaps the server was overloaded etc, what would you do and how would you do it? Would you have to take it offline to fix it? These people are not gods, and running a server is not easy, please give them credit where credit is due.
