Does anyone really think with that many providers using Nagra 3, that it will go uncompromised, especially considering how weak Nagra 1 and 2 were? Does anyone think Nagra just suddenly woke up and started making a quality product? Does anyone actually think Nagra is outpacing the developmental capabilities of hackers in Europe, North America and Korea now? There have already been major embarrassments out of Kudelski on the Nagravision 3 system, they have already done card recalls of certain versions of the nagra 3 cards and sent out new ones replacing them.
Now if you want specifics for what actually has been done so far. I will give some of what is known. Dark Angel the coder who wrote numerous blockers and hacks for the rom 102 cards, whos been around the satellite business since before HashHU even started (and we have been here for over 7 years), claims he is close to releasing a fix for armulator emulation equipment, which at this point is having freezing issues, he claims he needs to figure out the checksum information before he releases this fix. If he is successful with this fix, it's literally a matter of days after he releases it before it comes to almost all FTA receivers as emulators work identically to FTA receivers.
This is what I knew about the Viewsat card lab out the basement of a rented house in texas, which now claims to be dismantled. They were taking pictures of the card, getting all information off the card that they could and taking apart the binary code, they also claimed they had Nagra 3 working with freezing but would not release it till that was fixed. As of now, my sources say the cardlab is shut down and they are not working on a fix because Jung Kwak, owner of Viewtech Inc, has declared bankruptcy and wishes to invest no more money into the operation. I think this may be backtracking if they actually do have a fix they are not going to want to say they were the ones who released it. Back when the Nagra 2 hacks came along it was released first as open source for DVB cards in North America because no manufacturer of FTA equipment wanted to take the heat.
There are numerous credible instances we see of progress on Nagra 3, and when they come from the same sources that told me 4 years ago that Nagra 2 was done, I'm hard pressed to find a reason why I should have more doubt this time around than I did last time.
There is so much money flying around in the FTA business these days that the cost of producing a hack is minuscule compared to return on the investment, and there are numerous players with more than 20 million dollars who still haven't had enough who have invested. Money Talks, N3 Walks. End C/P We will see inna about a week if i was givin the wrong info !!!
I dont remember this one, Interesting read.
