A man fell to his death from a third-story hotel window while re-enacting an Ultimate Fighting Championship move during a night of drinking.

Police say 25-year-old Darenell Jones was pushed into the window Wednesday night while celebrating the marriage of a family member and watching a UFC fight in a Farmington hotel room.

"It was horseplay, basically," said Sgt. Robert Perez of the Farmington Police Department's detective bureau. "They were hitting each other and pushing each other around."

Jones was pushed by one of the other people in the room, stumbled and went through the window when the thick piece of glass broke, falling 20 feet to the sidewalk below, Perez said.

Medics already were performing CPR when officers arrived, and Jones was pronounced dead at the hospital.

Perez said he does not have a toxicology report back yet, "but the reports are they were all drinking."

The police department has forwarded its report to the district attorney's office for review.

I think the UFC advertises beer too much. MMA is not about drinking and unskilled brawls!

Its too easy to blame alcohol or the UFC, lets call this what it is, STUPIDITY ! People don't think before they act, and in most cases injury or death is the result.

That's rediculous to associate this accident with the UFC in any way. This was no more than drunken idiots trying to act tough. Guess they should have gotten a room on the 1st floor. What next? We gonna start blaming musicians again for kids who unfortunatly commit suicide?

I think they should sue the hotel, I mean don't you think the windows should be flying spin kick proof?

very tragic i must say. you would think they would have stronger windows as the floors get higher up to prevent such a thing from happening.
