Brian Roberts Picked as No. 3 "Most Overpaid"

This just in from the Corporate Library's 2009 Pay Survey: On the list of the five "most overpaid" CEOs Comcast's Brian Roberts ranks No. 3. According to firm, which provides independent corporate governance research and analysis, Roberts received total compensation of $40.8 million last year.

That's from a $2.7 million base salary and over $22 million in earnings related to stock options. Roberts also received a "relatively small discretionary bonus" of $881,027 and a "very substantial" bonus of $7.4 million under a non-equity incentive plan.

In a statement, Comcast described its 2008 performance as "strong despite what was one of the most challenging economic and competitive environments in decades." The company added that its executive compensation practices are "closely aligned with shareholders' interests" and a "major factor in our success."

Maybe if the sat companies would charge a bit less and give a lot more to the customer, they would probably get a lot more subscribers.

yea but many channel sat compnies buy from cable companies.

look at versus TV..... They are owned by Comcast.. look at TNT that ted Turner and Superstaion... WGN... SPIKE TV.. those are privately owned or owned by Comcast cable.

why do you think DTV is not going to show versus anymore.

Makes you wonder why the people that you mentioned keep on going. If I had that much money I would just stop and really enjoy life. Traveling, fishing, hunting, bbqing. You said Opera Winfry made 385 million last year. Just with that she could spend 12 million a year for the next 30 years. They need to realize that life is short and if you have been blessed in life with this kind of money, you need to learn how to enjoy and spend a little. Just my thoughts.:\
