Well I decided it was VERY necessary to make this news post as people are getting banned left and right for 10 days from not following rules and constantly posting Viewsat rumor threads.

I've seen maybe thousands of these Viewsat rumor threads on here in the last few days, all based from ONE source which is not in any position right now to be a reliable one.

To start off I want to give some tips to anyone out there who is a Viewsat fanboy.

#1. Do yourself a favor, and never believe a rumor regardless of who it is from. Please keep this in mind at all times. 99% of all rumors are bullcrap, so basically, this is the best thing you can do.

#2. Stop spending all your time, or should I say wasting all your time, for something like a N3 fix. Might as well start waiting for your messiah to come if your going to spend all your time doing that. We don't know when both those things are coming, so we live our lives until they do come.

#3. Stop posting Viewsat rumors threads. Especially from every single little bit of information you hear and think it means something. It dosen't mean anything most of the time. Only 1% of all rumors come true, and those are usually from specific places, not the places you guys have access to.

#4. This is the most important tip, MOVE ON! I'm not promoting certain brands, but instead of wasting 7 hours a day posting viewsat rumors and sitting in your chair waiting for gigster to post a file, you could spend that time making a few bucks and buying yourself an IKS reciever like Kbox or Nfusion.

I too was a long-time supporter of ViewSat (which still works fine for true FTA) but now there are more versatile options like CNX and KBOX so those who really need their TV should consider them rather than hoping for rumors to come true. There's plenty of discussions on those brands at this forum so it's in your best interest to read up and make an informed decision on your next purchase.

I want every Viewsat fanboy to read this post of mine, hopefully the giant yellow sign is enough to get their attention on the front page.

I am still skeptical about the whole IKS thing, so I will stick to my sub. From what I have been able to read these boxes with their IKS adaptor allow two way communication. That's what worries me. I don't care about what data is being sent to the box as much as what data is being sent from the box... Maybe it's just me...

to see what is happening, I am a viewsat owner *sigh* My boxes are dusty right
now sitting in a closet! I Have a SUB so I am not without TV.
I will sit and wait and maybe oneday the Viewsat gods will shine on me/Us
till then READ READ READ!!!! and if you need TV get a SUB or Move ON!!

well said I put my vs back in the box along time ago and replaced it with kbox so i can watch while i wait.

blah, anything thats on tv is on the net, and available. i spent money on standalone, not spending money on iks which will probably die in a year too.

Like I said in my last post the time is right for a stand alone fix and the source that gave us this rumor is not a bad source, but there is a lot that goes on between the implementation of a new encryption system and the deployment of a public release. In this case like I said I hope everything went as planned but you know how that goes. It as been a while since the first information needed for an N3 fix was possibly looked at and worked on, therefore I thought maybe an FTA hack might possibly be ready considering all the factors at hand and the timing involved but I guess not yet, of course we will keep watching and waiting as there is not a lot else we can do in the FTA area.

viewsat is an excellent receiver fta, and it does not need rumors to sell but. it does not need to promise date, since their engineering equipment carries out a good work.

Iks like standalone well eventually end up in the same boat...nothing last forever.

Its may or may not happen that a standalone well come to be but waiting like fools for it isn't healthy..there's much more to life.

Viewsat Made It Simple And Easy For Fta. Thats Why Some Of Us Hold On To That Little Bit Of Hope That They Will Figure Out A Fix. I Don't Have The Time Or Patience For Anything Else, But I Greatly Appreciate The Testers That Do And Help Out The People Like Me. I Think This Site Would Be A Lot Better If People Who Know Nothing And Have No Inside Info Would Just Keep Quiet And Quit Posting Rumors. i was introduced to the fta industry by way of c/s thought it was the coolest thing scene i had hacked cable box's loved them than c/s sat went down hill soon after i bought them than i went to s/v got two of them that was great one fix for 6 mounts than boom now on to kbox not pushing the brand just like the box. moral of the story if you want to get if for free move on

There are thousands of members who love their viewsats, myself included. but there is absolutely no sense in grasping at straws and getting all sexcited about a date for standalone bin is not a good thing to hang your hat on. The people that make these things have never ever given a release date for anything. You all know that you visit the site and there it is. You have all seen my posts on this subject. People want to act like children and post this stuff just to bring attention to themselves and not pay attention to a request not to do it, deserved exactly what they got - some reading time. Mods don't like to do that but when it gets to the point of needing control, then its time to pay attention and just move on to the next best thing and patiently wait like we always have.

Most members realize that they get good value for what they put the bucks out for. I have many boxes that cost a lot of cash and yes... I have been burnt to. Most of us ole guys have. It's just part of the hobby... If you can't deal with that and want to post bs.... then you pay the freight.

Sadly, I think the Viewsat brand is dead. The stunts that the HQ site is playing is has lowered their credibility to below zero.

I just wish viewsat, what's left of them, would do the right thing and release the source code to their PVR 7000 and other boxes. At least that would give other coders the opportunity to create bins to make them into IKS receivers or card sharing or even card reading receivers. Other defunct FTA companies have done that, viewsat has not.

Well I decided it was VERY necessary to make this news post as people are getting banned left and right for 10 days from not following rules and constantly posting Viewsat rumor threads.

I've seen maybe thousands of these Viewsat rumor threads on here in the last few days, all based from ONE source which is not in any position right now to be a reliable one.

To start off I want to give some tips to anyone out there who is a Viewsat fanboy.

#1. Do yourself a favor, and never believe a rumor regardless of who it is from. Please keep this in mind at all times. 99% of all rumors are bullcrap, so basically, this is the best thing you can do.

#2. Stop spending all your time, or should I say wasting all your time, for something like a N3 fix. Might as well start waiting for your messiah to come if your going to spend all your time doing that. We don't know when both those things are coming, so we live our lives until they do come.

#3. Stop posting Viewsat rumors threads. Especially from every single little bit of information you hear and think it means something. It dosen't mean anything most of the time. Only 1% of all rumors come true, and those are usually from specific places, not the places you guys have access to.

#4. This is the most important tip, MOVE ON! I'm not promoting certain brands, but instead of wasting 7 hours a day posting viewsat rumors and sitting in your chair waiting for gigster to post a file, you could spend that time making a few bucks and buying yourself an IKS reciever like Kbox or Nfusion.

This is a very good read. I wouldn't say it is the end of Viewsat, I'd just say that it isn't in its best condition at the moment. But to all Viewsat fanboys out there, I'm going to tell you a secret way to watch your shows... YouTube. D= It is a magical site that exists if we believe.

2) If you have a VS Extreme or Older model, also move on... buy IKS or sub back, they will not work with N3 if there is any update firmaware in the future.

However, I do find "VS fanboy" a bit objectionable, and NOT just cuz I'm a female VS owner! It borders on derogatory and coming from an admin, it's a bit too close to name calling in my opinion.

This place is a cross-section of the bigger world out there ... there will always be impatient, annoying people ... cutting in front of you in a traffic line ... or begging for bins when a new fix comes out. It's human nature, god bless us all!

I don't post much, but read a lot ... sometimes for knowledge, sometimes to keep up on what's new in the fta world ... and sometimes, just for the entertaining peek at humanity.

i have a nf,k box,i link,conaxsat,sv and A sub.i also have a viewsat.i am still waiting for THE FIX,but patiently.anything can happen.seems this site has become more of a k box nf site lately.but this is still my favorite site.

Viewsat fta boxes are basically the same as other fta Boxes. I know that different boxes take different bins. However to say that Viewsat boxes are obsolete is an uneducated statement. I will give up on a bin for my Viewsat when all the other boxes have working bins for several months. Because, It’s just a HOBBY for me. I don’t think your post is banner worthy and I find it offensive as a Viewsat fan.

There's a very good reason you haven't heard other manufacturers posting rumors all over the internet claiming a fix is about to be released. For some reason, and maybe it's not even Viewsat's fault, there has been nothing but rumor after rumor and it's all been Viewsat.

You don't hear rumors from Pansat or any of the other big name receivers out there (forgive me for not knowing them all).... best to keep your mouth shut, for more than one reason...

Point being made is that Viewsat rumors are clogging up the pipes. This thread is apparently helping unclog those pipes.

You looking for people to vent some anger?... lmao..... how about how angry us senior members get after a long day of work when we settle in with our laptops and a cold brew only to find that our favorite site is polluted with baseless crap..... crap repeated 100x over...... the rumour section exists for a reason...... the VS rumour was posted in there and that was fine.... i joined in and gave my thoughts..... then i got crapped on by many vs owners because i didn't think the fix would come..... told i was negative.... well... guess what?.... my ultra is on a shelf in the basement collecting dust bunnies while I watch the hockey game on my kbox.....

The problem here is not the VS rumour itself..... it is the blind and uncompromising attitude of some VS owners who think every little thing posted from a site (one which is essentially closed down) is gospel....... Well I have read this entire thread now and I must say, some of the people who visit this site should give their heads a shake. Honestly, n3xtgen just posted what most of us have been thinking for a long time. It's not biased, it's just common sense. Honestly, anyone with 1 post can come in this forum and say anything about viewsat and some people will believe it. "I found the cure for cancer", "Aids was designed by the nazis", "Steven Colbert loves chickens". Now if I said any of those things to the people who I hang out with, they would call me an idiot and tell me to shut up. Why? Because they are just statements with absolutely nothing to back them up. Same as the situation here, and I for one would like to see permanent bans for anyone who posts baseless rumors.
And by baseless I mean, all the posts that claim they read it on another site, probably in their rumor section. I wonder how many people copy and paste crap from our rumor section to put in the rumor sections of other sites. A lot I bet.

Yes, there is a good posibillity.
If it goes to court you may have to pay for all the expenses they had, like fine, attorneys, time for investigating etc.. They would have $$ tied up in it only for a short while til you pay. So be carefull !!!

Judges don't even know the full content of the child support laws less then fcc regulations ( I'm not sure if it would fall under this or else).

I,m self educated(chapel hill and harbor websites, studying case after case) in child support law because my ex wife and social services ripped me off every time I had to go to court. This knowledge saved me $ 15,000 just on lawyers cost. I done it my self.

I'm watching my HD Sub with no glitch's and everything is open just not free. I tend to agree that VS or any other non IKS will see any fixes in the near future. When Dave closed the doors on the HU's it was over for Dave's boxes. Charley has closed the door on the Rom's and it's probably over, for now. IKS is NOT the answer for most people but do what ever you like. Just remember you are going to pay either way you go. :coffee:

bballsunny all brand's are dead on n3 standalone fix .The only thing working is iks at the moment and they are a few brand's of those .That is if you're looking for Dish network or Bev .Telefonica file's are still being released for South America .

You are right, servers, same as this one, still not online 24/7/365. Some other fta sites got hacked/taken over in the last year or so. Iks is just something I don't have a good feeling about, just not for me, hope everyone else has a good experience with it.

Why do you make this rule only for vs, what about the other boxes.
Why does the rumor section as to suffer, the spill-over should be punished. I always thought that the rumor section was created for all rumors and for all brands of boxes. If the rumors section can not be used per your new rules for the specific vsn3 rumors, why do we have a rumor section at all? It sure was fun reading through it.
Lately, even for rumors there was a quest to provide prove, if you have prove for a rumor then it is not a rumor no more, it would be fact. And yes I agree at times it was out of hand, it got dull after a while to read over the same things again and again. But it kept folks coming back to this site.

#2 the Boxes have a legimite use for FTA Satellite viewing.
#3 How does anybody prove what data has the box owner has used ?
#4 So what if you are traced?? Somebody is going to need a warrent to search and seize your property. I would love to hear the reason given to the judge for a warrent.

Why do you people keep saying that you all are right about no fix they put a new date two days ago saying imminent meaning they knew the 22nd wouldn't happen so they covered themselves meaning they did not lie to you all. It is still up for grabs they know a fix is coming sometime soon. The moment they got rid of the date on the front page is the day they stopped the lying to us because if they were lying to us they would have kept the 22nd up and let the day pass without anything new when they didn't they told us that a new date was posted instead. Why do you make this rule only for vs, what about the other boxes.
Why does the rumor section as to suffer, the spill-over should be punished. I always thought that the rumor section was created for all rumors and for all brands of boxes. If the rumors section can not be used per your new rules for the specific vsn3 rumors, why do we have a rumor section at all? It sure was fun reading through it.
Lately, even for rumors there was a quest to provide prove, if you have prove for a rumor then it is not a rumor no more, it would be fact. And yes I agree at times it was out of hand, it got dull after a while to read over the same things again and again. But it kept folks coming back to this site.

Look folks, The rumor section was getting way out of hand. If you have been reading it over the last 2 weeks you know this. Crazy stuff being said and inbred families running wild. N3xt and the Mods seen the same rumor posted at least 10 times and when that banner changed at the other site it was posted 10 more times.Read the section headlines before you repost the same things. As far as this thread goes, It was needed. I am a VS guy and most know I will never give up on them but IKS is our only option to watch free premium tv. I hope that you all realize this and if you don't trust IKS then get a paid sub which I have and/or just chill and experiment with True FTA. As far as taking your anger out on the Boss and his crew thats just not cool. Period.

When they put up the date 22/10/2009 I was about 50% convinced that they might put out a bin but after the new date was imminent my hopes went down to about 1%, but ya never know it still might happen in the future, it still makes a good door stop/dust collector, don't owe me anything, paid for its self a long time ago

I feel like I just heard news of someone I used to know died. Viewsats credibility died. Cyphris credibility too. On previous rumours, which were less credible than this one, he was very concrete in denying them. This time, when everybody had a more solid reason to believe(since it was on the "official" webpage), he kept quite and let the rumor grow in geometrical proportion. This is the final push I needed to go IKS. RIP old viewsat friend.
BTW I came across a viewsat only site which openned registration to the public 2 days ago. Their front page has an identical ,clone like, message to the "official" webpage. Just like C&P. Go figure

I know sites are supported by dealers. They pay the bills. They want to sell something that works even if it's only somewhat. IKS works if you can use it. If you live in the country where cable and DSL aren't available which is the case for a large portion of satellite users then IKS won't work for you. It's just that simple. If you were one of the 25,000 **** TV tried to sue for buying a smart card device you aren't going to use anything that can possibly be tracked back to you. You would be stupid if you did.
So then your choices are to sub to what you like or get use to watching what you can get on real FTA or an outside antenna. You can always hope something comes along later but don't hold your breath or I'll call you blue Boy. :D

#1 Who says IKS is illegal?
#2 the Boxes have a legimite use for FTA Satellite viewing.
#3 How does anybody prove what data has the box owner has used ?
#4 So what if you are traced?? Somebody is going to need a warrent to search and seize your property. I would love to hear the reason given to the judge for a warrent.
