I really don't think so. All the papper work i have has a lot of different case# and dates don't jive. The papper i have has to do with viewsat and it is not true. I think there tired of all the *****ing from peopple when boxes don't work. And just want out.
mixmaster 12-08-2007, 05:24 AM hello

neutron 12-08-2007, 08:18 PM what is all this bs about coolsat

i just saw lawsuit and posted abuot it
dont think us goverment would post it if it wasnt true
evets990 12-09-2007, 08:49 PM these cases take years to run through the system.
i read the viewsat case and there is a lot that the defense can defend.
just because a case is filed it doesn't mean someone will be guilty.
it takes $350 to file w3ith the court plus your lawyer to write it up. some of these law firms are on retainer. they get paid even if they don't work. guess what. put them to work.
doorperson 12-10-2007, 05:59 PM This makes for a good read...........
charliehorse107 12-10-2007, 06:51 PM eso hace que las fta's se vendan más aun!!!!
bigdee89 12-10-2007, 08:52 PM Yikes....not good....
evets990 12-10-2007, 09:24 PM if you read it they are essentially on a fishing expedition.
they have no idea who the ten "john does" are and hope that if the court grants them discovery they will be able to find out.
they are suing a specific company. they hope in doing that the company defends itself and they discover something they can use.
problem is that there are too many companies out there. they originally went to china for their receivers and taught the chinese how to make them. no the chinese are making them and selling them to us. they have been knocked off.
about all they are able to find out is what they can by having someone join a site like this. at the very least i hope the donate to support the site. isn't that a funny thought about some sort of conflict of interest or entrapment????
they just haven't figured out that no matter what they do someone will find a way.
the advertisers already pay for their content.
they should just drop their prices to where everyone will buy in. if they don't do that its just going to keep happening to them.
it is just like 'crack'. they are hooked on making easy money and can't dream of being more creative.
years ago people who listened to radio in the uk had to purchase licenses. radio was boring. then pirate radio stations open aboard ships out the territorial limits. radio boomed. tons of stations open. it is said these stations were the first to play the beatles. imagine if the pirate stations had not existed. had we left it up to the corporate decision makers. no beatles, rolling stones, etc...
so i would think in a way we are changing television.
they wiped out internet tv and now are trying to do the same with fta. maybe they should put their thinking caps on and figure out another way to market their product.
if it wasn't for us the world would still be flat.

Letmeon 12-10-2007, 11:49 PM Talk about greedy. Just money hungry. No competition = easy street.
Coolsat or other receivers are sold as FTAs.
doorperson 12-10-2007, 11:57 PM coolsat 5000 is down 126bin

your posting on the wrong thread.
evets990 12-11-2007, 08:22 AM yes its is about greed.
there is no competition.
they all charge the same price for the same service.
they want to kill fta machines.
they would want to kill a big mac and fries if it affected their business.
rather than change their business model into something truely competitive.
if they kill fta machines then the kill everyone who is watching the free channels.
they are essentially saying you can't watch the free channel (unscrambled and with no fees) because you only have to watch us a pay us.
it would be like the drug companies trying to ban the sale of needles because people use illegal drugs.

With all due respect, I am not so sure I agree. The providers have a leak in the dam and the finger in the damn hole is no longer doing the job. Some people say If they could select the providers programing, they would give up FTA. Really? They would be willing to pay for the channels they want and the PPV, when they can just fire up the old FTA for free? This FTA "cottage industry" has grown exponentally, how many friend, relatives, neighbors have you helped get FTA? Make no mistake, they are losing big money and have to stop it or go out of business. They will probably never completely stop it, but will drive it further underground.
olliec 12-11-2007, 11:09 AM Unless they pull a DTV move theyre not going to stop anything by suing the companies, did you read the brief? I ran this by a paralegal friend of mine who is also a FTA'er. Viewtech and Freetech arent doing anything wrong, they make FTA receivers. If you update your firmware thats you. Cant do anything to them unless the coder really do work for those companies which im not sure i believe or not yet, and if they do they have proof of them doing so. I think theyre trying scare tactics on the companies but no proof.

I was thinking that same thing, Just didn't post in case it was stupid LOL
The thing is, that one dealer (not naming for liability reason) that turned witness. Could she have givin echo some sort of proof of a relationship between coder and manufacture??
neutron 12-18-2007, 10:26 PM latest update on case
I do not see anywhere on that site that it is being sued...
lordzargon 01-04-2008, 11:24 PM There was not only 1 apple on a Tree. 76F2 BBf2 LOL
waterboy 01-04-2008, 11:59 PM where do you get this shit from
the only thing i see is coolsat is trying to get out of a big mess
from all the 5000 and 6000 they sold and are not supporting
what we need is a fix for are 5000 and 6000 so we wont get so much
Bull.and i think we will get a new fix sooner or later before they go down again
magicfan4ever 01-05-2008, 12:22 AM they were next on the list.. no surprises there :( ..
 Yup, no surprise there! They(Echostar) are going to try to go after every single FTA Manufacture outthere. All they doing is playing the "SCARE" game, that's all it is. They know they can not do a thing about it.:zipped:
