i heard there will be a temporary fix sometime today by most manufacturers.but i also read two weeks ago blacklist was suppose to release a permanant fix for pansat by now,so i really dont know what to beleive.........

Well if Captiveworks can come out with a temp. fix that lasts more than a week maybe the others could too. Although if the others do too maybe Bev/Dish will take them all down.

or maybe viewsat and sonic view are not wasting there time on a temp fix and spending all there time to come out with a good fix........

tempory fix should be out any time within 24 hours and a permanent fix should be out in by february 2008 for viewsat

I might tend to lean more on that. Why bother getting a temp fix for 1 day or less. Waste of coders time. I'll wait until they have a more permanent fix which has been stated on this site before that it will be late Januray or early February. This fix would be a long long one.

just chill i don't think anyone has a real idea when a fix will come untill then just be patient your forgetting that your getting these fixes for free.

i heard from a reputable dealer that there will most likely...most likely be a temp fix by end of this week and that he heard that they are working on the emulator that will be out sometime near end of Jan.

I was also told not to buy the NFusion due to being connected directly to the internet and for some other legal reasons.

If VS is indeed keeping their coders busy on a more permanent fix instead of wasting their time placating whiners with temporary fixes, I for one am impressed.

I just love the rumours that get started. For those that wish to believe what BL, or TDG, or especeially MikesMadd have to say...remember, they are trying to install confidence in the boxes that they are trying to sell to you. If you choose to believe what BL and TDG say, just look back in threads at different sites and see the time frames promosed by both of them during the Map 57 days. If I'm not mistaken, the 1-2 week time frame promised by BL in his "Speech from the Mount" on IRC is just about to expire, and the only "regular" STB that is working is the CW that has never promised anything. People...believe only what you see with your own eyes. Don't believe these "snake oil" salesmen. Do not buy any box until this latest issue is resolved satisfactorily. I don't care which brand. I have many different brands, and many methods...but there is no such thing as a "sure" thing or brand or method. Wait until the latest crap works itself out, then you will see what is indeed true.

one thing funny for over 2 weeks now everytime a manufacture comes out with a temp fix people say well we dont have one yet because they are probably working on a more stable fix ,,,example last temp fix viewsat was later than others and yet we all thought because we would get a temp fix that would be better yet it was the same as others freezing issues and was as mutch temp as others ,,,the only difference is viewsat costomers only got to enjoy it for a shorter time ,,,now cw came with a temp fix days ago and there costomers are enjoying for all this time by the time vs puts out a temp fix bev and dish will pull the plug and we will be waiting for another temp fix for days or a week ,,,as for people saying a time frame of the end of jan or beginning or feb,,,how can someone say this if they dont have the fix now then noone knows when they will have it if they would know when that would be because they already have it when they finally get it they will release it right away i dont think they can say well we should have this by this date ,,,this is like saying we are working on a cancer cure dont have it yet but will have it by 2009 ,,,what would make someone say that nothing or you got it or you dont and your working on it ,,maybe they it the fix tonight maybe next week or maybe next month ,i really dont think anyone can give a time line ,,the only way someone could give a time line is if they already have the fix and are waiting for a certain date to release it and that would be stupid because like othes have said no fix slow or no sales thats the bottom line

Isn't every fix we get is a TEMP fix??? And always will be??? Unless U R looking at real FTA birds - it's a chase - catch game... And for REAL testers the chase is better than the catch!

that's exactly what it's about, companies that make the boxes aren't profiting from the down time, the people owning the boxes aren't profiting from the down time, but, the sites that have the fourums and the files, are the only ones that are profiting from the downtime, it's so hard to get on, i'm sure lots of people are paying to be supporters, and their hit counters are going through the roof, which allowes them to charge more for their advertizing. I bet most of the sites even turned down the amount of non supporting members that can access the sites, in order to try to get more people paying to see there there are no fixes out yet....

Don't matter to me, the second a fix is out, i get it emailed to me, i only come to read the fourums. good luck to all...

For all you non-believers, just look......:read:in the files section. The temp fixes are starting to roll in. There is two for VS Pro. I am confident the next will be for Ultra, Extreme and so on. Just relax everyone. :thmbup:
