Times have been bandied about for sometime Sunday morning. (At least that will give the majority of us time to put plan "B" into action. Head for a friend that has a subscriptiion to cable/satellite/whatever.) More info on this as i recieve it.

That's why you don't get into this game without having a solid plan B, anyone who relies on FTA "testing" for tv is simply asking for periods of no tv!

You seem to know alot for just joining this site this month and making this your first post. What do you do go around and join each site and make this your first post ? We will see what happens. If something does happen I really don`t think we will down for that long.

i will bet heavily that we wont be watching the SB on DN or BEV. Its been quiet the past week for a good reason. If i was them i would launch a ecm 5 min before kickoff to hurt the most people, But this could also hurt subscibers and they have to pull the ECM. Lets hope for the best, and not get mad about something we know is probly coming. I have a free basic cable backup and would not give it up even if DAVE was hacked today. I doubt this guy is solid for info being his first post and newb but think about it, we know its coming. Happy testing

Not sure how number of posts equates to number of years experience in testing or the validity of the message. I've been testing since the VC days of the early 90s. He obviously has been in the game awhile to know what Black Sunday was, right?

I think he was referring to '2009', when by law all broadcasts will have to be digital ... so, plain ol' rabbit ears wouldn't pick up a local broadcast.

cut the bull,, black sunday...it's just another day if things go down...but if you have a sub who cares...let me guess the super bowl...it's on regular HD rabbit ears...so a ecm cant be about that....not to mention...the customer service fiasco.... they may roll keys..

but if they didn't activate ECM yet ...don't think they will risk..it..cause every time they do stuff..their irds..blanc out for a minute or too...and a call to wait 1 hour on hold on sunday... then their ecm had better be real specific for fta..or cards...cause if they blank out ..subs...NFL fans are going to be real pissed...and most nfl fans will spend money...on the competition...if sh*t happens...so i don't think anything will happen sunday...But Monday ...that is another story...

now lets see how this plays out....because the only ones who really know are the IT dept that runs the program..and CS that staffs for volume of problems..

So far I am still up with all boxes, wonder when they will set ecm active today.

FTA testing is my only source of tv but I would never pay for that crap because 90% of the time i sit down and watch it there is NOTHING on so i just sit down with my cw800pvr and put it to use with a nice sized hd and load it up for the next ecm so i always have something to watch. My advice to anyone who is *****ing and complaining about the ecm and no fixes is get a pvr and a life.

After getting screwed all these years with a suscription. I would never go back to having one. Get out the dvd's charlie can kiss my ass!!!!!!!!!!

Because the nfusion nova doesnt calculate keys. Its keys are sent via IKS. (Internet Key Sharing). Most of the time it wont be effected by an ecm because the rest of its code is fine, just the key part needs to be right. So basically when the receiver needs a key a good fast server has calculated keys, a relay requests the keys and sends them to the nfusion... the future of fta :cool:

Not at all, they were referring to last sunday, with it being SB sunday. Feb 2009 will see the cease of analog tv broadcasting but that won't affect us either

i have talked to several people far up the ladder in fta they say fta is going to be around for sometime to come so dont put a lot of stock into rumored crap.:mad:

Why the wait for upgrades? Research IKS (interactive key sharing) and you'll find that these units (Neosat, Nfusion, TesSat) are up because they're connected to the Internet. The receiver you menioned requires a firmware update.. which has to be written first. Therefore, the wait.

And when they both go out on a Friday, which they did yesterday, it worsens the problem. Think they know that when they release ECMs on a Friday?:coffee:

Yes they are. Read about IKS before you decide (pros & cons). Me? I`m a bit scared of internet connections but others loved it. So read anything about the subject & decide by yourself.

dont feel bad i just talked a friend into buying a viewsat now we are down.and hes being impatient i told them that when you get into this hobby there are times you just have to wait ....they'll get a fix have faith
