This has been said before it's all about the dollars and cents. Whatever costs less to get to and turns into revenue is what will be gone after. A few years ago they said N2 was the end of FTA. FTA will never die because the true "Free-To-Air" will be there. What will happen is that the testing hobby will take a hit.

That being said - when there is money involved, anything can happen. Whether it be leaked code or cracked code it will find its way to public domain. The question now is, which one is easier and more cost effective. But that is another topic, I just wanted to add my two cents and see what others say!

I also read in another site about nag 3 my opinion.......we are screwed, if we are now having trouble with nag 2 and the new ecm every week so just imagine nag 3.

they just switched cards because they were on 2 encryption methods and they changed to just 1

all this has been said in this site for months now

still more to come but looks like coders already have it cracked

Nagra is "short" for NAGRAVISION...there was 1-2, and now allegedly 3..each is suppose to be an improvement and more secure than the previous version..

Nagravision is a specfic designed system used by by Dishnetwork (DN-Dik) and Bell Express Vu (Bev) to "encrypt" and scramble their TV signals so they cannot be viewed unless U have a paid subscription or the hack to "decrypt" and unscramble their TV signal..

BTW...IKS is the way of the future...Viewsat will be coming out with IKS receivers , as will Coolsat...they're talking about a release date fairly soon..

Nagra 2 and 3 are now running together on Echo 110 it doesn't mean theres a card swap coming but theyre probably testing it out as we speak.

just visited lyngsat and noticed that both providers are using nagra 2 and 3 now... GC is still stated as Nagra 1 and Nagra 2

My Opinion. To early to tell, remember they also said Atmega would never work again that, it was to slow to decrypt the signal etc etc bla bla. IKS is a nice easy way to track someone down, even if you use a proxy, dont forget that a proxy server logs every thing. Good luck to Future to early to tell, but I can say this the newer STB's should be fast enough.

Okay, so that was somewhat off subject - but I agree with the point being made. This is a game of who is who and what is what. But at the end of the day, if someone created it, then someone will break it! It's just a matter of how many resources are commited to it, and I think we have the upper hand.

yea like b4 it was dtv(which is still sorta prevailing) and you could goto a store in Canada where i live and they would program it, now we can goto computer stores and buy these fta box's that are unbelievably advanced we may have some downtime but we will always win, its wireless signal, and the way the laws work with Canada not letting American providers sell here just makes it easyer, i love this sh*t
