How to Convert Mvidea to a Echolite790.
1 - open cnx_uptool_7.6
2 - click on upgrade application
3 - load the mvideafs4000_FTA_factoryfile
4 - load rom_main_v3.27_6(7)x0_B
5 - update key data with softcam
you now have a echolite790.
Step by Step instructions
1 - power off at rear ,hook up cable
2 - open up cnx_uptool_7.6 and set up com port
3 - click on upgrade application
4 - load mvideafs4000_FTA_factoryfile power on at rear and let it download.
5 - after its done rebooting power off rear switch .
6 - open up cnx_uptool_7.6 and set up com port
7 - load rom_main_v3.27_6(7)x0_B , power on rear switch let download.
8 - after its done rebooting power off rear switch .
9 - load update key New Echo Cam 06.03.power on rear switch let download.
10 - after its done rebooting ,and showing 0000 on display
load update key New Echo Cam 06.03 to make sure it loaded keys.
11 - power off rear switch hook to TV
When you boot up receiver the screen will be black & white and fuzzy DONT PANIC !!
push the PAL/NTSC button on bottom right corner of remote till you see NTSC on screen hit OK.
you should have clear menu with color now.
Satellite Settings
when you go to set up satellite you will find no echostar or nimiq in the list,
scroll down in sat list to bottom ,you will see a bunch of sats called Neusat
choose one and push yellow button to change name .using remote keypad name it ES8 110w exit and save .
then push red button to enter LNB configuration usually set at 11250 but 11200 is closest option in list
so use 11200 set diseqc switch port if used exit and save . now push green button and enter transponders
and then add transponder 12224,20000,set either V or H you will see quality and signal now on transponder.
repeat this step till you manually add all transponders. then push blue button on remote and scan in channels
when done scanning save and exit. then push 8888 on remote to activate patch and exit out and watch TV.
EchoStar wide open all channels work great for Echostar SATS ONLY . a new bin file is needed to get BEV running,
the bin you loaded on machine is the most recent bin file 05/27/2008. you now are running a European bin file on your Echolite790.
Finding new bin files is tricky because they only exist on european fta sites and they are all in different languages. i will keep posting new bin files for the echolite790 when they come out,this conversion is tested and running every channel on ES 8/10 im sure you can add any Echostar sat the same way you entered ES 8/10.Hopefully the Echolite790 support will last longer than Mvidea support.
the remote works good with the conversion no troubles at all ,they are identical receivers and remotes as mvidea. The only negative thing i can see is the EPG does not give you info on the show playing,you just get the channel name and number.i think that is because the bin file only has european birds in the default sat list.that is why you must enter sats and transponders manually to get it to find echostar birds.
But there looks like a light at the end of the tunnel for mvidea owners if they want to convert to this model. it is easy to convert back to mvidea if you dont like the echolite ,just load the mvidea factory file and mvidea 142 bin and its a Mvidea again. Many hours of reading and trial and error went into this to get to work and i am happy with the out come......Enjoy :clap:
