cryptology for digital tv
hxxp://ieeexplore.ieee.org/xpl/freea...
Digital TV broadcasting needs new cryptological tools for conditional access, copyright protection and image authentication. The aim of this paper is to overview the corresponding systems' features. The description of a conditional access system is given. It is shown that equitable systems need the use of a trusted third party. The design of efficient copyright protection by watermarking images and image authentication by signatures are also briefly discussed.
so taking this into account i have this to say!
in order to render these access cards useless the encryption delivery system
must be changed. common sense tells you that these systems are versatile but limited to the possible encryption types and variations therefore just a version of the same stream re-encrypted w add ons, subs etc.taking this into account the only way to render these 102 103 atmega 128,256 etc so on,would be to completely change the encryption system and if you change the encryption system you must change the hardware inside your satellites ,which to those of you that do not understand,is like changing video and audio format which needs a totally new hardware to process only these are encrypted also and the satellites hardware does not have the ability to alter itself remotely from earth!! you must go the 250 miles into orbit to(in dishnetworks case) your 10 or 11 sats and change the hardware because we already have that hardware beat and know its encryption processing capabilities!! at a cost way too deep for a cheap asshole like ergen so yes it can be changed and rendered obsolete for access cards but a rough way too figure the costs is to decide to abandon 11 sats and build new ones and launch or send up a crew to replace hardware or pay a few people to keep sending streams out and programming subs and ecm's same old shit !! ergen did it for 8 months recently and we just roughed it out and still got free tv so cost for a totally new encryption is in the 100's of millions plus trainig for the new system and copyrights, engineering for the actual creation of the encryption,i could go on but you get my drift.
