Hi I'm new here and I have trouble setting up a coolsat 7100pvr, I'm using a Dish 500 Pro. I put the RG6 cable on port 1 or 2 is that right? I get a Level 70-80 but quality is "0" i also downloaded a file C7100_NORW_V170_20080724 put it on the usb disk and upload it, but still i get no channels and quality is still "0" what should I do I'm really lost and frustrated. I tried googling around but can't find what i really need. and I see L100 is that an error or something? I really need your help guys I'm about to give up on this. Thanks

if quality is 0 then your dish needs to be aligned, L100 sounds like a bad bin loaded. you may have to load a factory bin through an rs232 cable
Thanks for the fast reply. I tried to allign it several times but the quality is still "0" Is my set up right I only use 1 cable from the satellite to my receiver. I put it on the left side of the Dish Pro 500 Plus (left side the one w/ two inputs) because the right side is I think for an additional Satellite. I do get the message L100 but I can see my menu's fine. I can scroll thru them but I get no quality or channels it says no Satellite found. And I don't have a RS232 Cable.
Basically what I did was put the Dish on the roof plug the RG6 on the left side of the Dish down to my Coolsat Reciever 7100pvr. Downloaded C7100_NORW_V170_20080724 & unzipped it to my Coolsat USB disk plugged it on the receiver and downloaded it. But still no Sat or Channels. I don't know about the Autoroll or Keys do I need to fix that too?

you first need a good signal from the dish on your roof, you need to get a sig of 80% or better and then go from there. one thing at a time !
I do have 83% for level but "0" for quality
I'm sorry and I really just wanna know if I did the right steps because I'm completely lost and new to this. Thanks

reboot your pvr see if that helps, also a bad bin can cause the quality to show 0 but a reboot should fix the problem unless your dish is not aimed right.
Reboot means just turn it off then on again or press the switch at the back. or is there a special button combination?
