View Full Version : Crude Oil Price History - 1947 - 2008 - Graph
n3xtgen 09-22-2008, 06:36 PM For those who are interested, here is a look at the last 60+ years for crude oil, also note the most recent price jumps are not on this graph. Looks like they will have to extend this graph much further beyond 100$ to fit the next year of increases.

satlove 09-22-2008, 06:53 PM Very interesting on a day where the price / barrel jump over $15.
n3xtgen 09-22-2008, 07:05 PM yup, that's why I posted it..
mefnikk 09-22-2008, 07:09 PM This is crazy to me. Any Commodity should ideally have a much more stable graph than that. WOW!!!
buddy129 09-22-2008, 08:24 PM What's people going to do, if it ain't one thing it's another, The war,the Iran issue, North Korea issue, Russia and Ike, where do we get our gas from? Everything seems to affect us, not to sure our government even knows where our gas comes from.
kndtrpts 09-23-2008, 12:32 AM very interesting.
thanks for the info, chief.
it also shows a basic law of physics, "What goes up... comes down".
colin7878 09-23-2008, 01:21 AM Thats some crazy ish
Corey006 09-23-2008, 07:59 AM -U have on the chart......(US Price Controls)......My question is.....If the US as the
last say in price controls how in the hell did it get so high????? And if the US did and
can control the price of oil why not now???? Like I said in the past "WE THE PEOPLE"
can beat this gas war by only using what we need to get by....They are killing us in
our pocket book and making the cost of living go to the roof....All we need to do is
ban together and stop buying their oil the way we are using it now.....We need the oil,
but they need our money....Without our money these oil countries will go tits up in
no time at all......And they will bag us to buy their oil....Between the US and Canada
we can cut the use of oil in 1/2 and get by only if we all work together....
Great thread, thanks for the info.:clap::clap::clap:
n3xtgen 09-23-2008, 09:25 AM People say they will boycott, but we all know nobody will follow through with that. Only a small percentage will end up doing it. The reality is we have been forced to use their oil for everyday life in today's society. If we can stop our everyday lives in modern day and come to a screeching halt for a few days, then I can see a boycott being possible. Else, it will never happen that way in my eyes. We are cornered.
A great fantasy though for sure.

i agree. they have got us by the **lls.
a boycott is just too radical for the lifestyle that we are all used to.
it would shake them pretty bad. lol!!!
Dalakerman06 09-25-2008, 04:22 AM thanks for the info, it's definitely interesting.
bobo12 09-27-2008, 12:42 PM 2005 was the world peak oil ie: since then supply can no longer keep up with demand. China, India and other nonindustrial economies have only began to increase demand as they're economies are booming into the industrial era. As world demand continues to outpace world supply, its a no brainer, price will ultimately keep going up. The only long term solution is to switch to a plentiful low cost energy source.
Corey006 09-27-2008, 02:25 PM --U are right on the money....It's time for us to switch from oil to something we can
produce in Canada and the US...We don't need to be under the gun to any other
country.
