there are a ton of posts on the card swap and nothing at all suggests that dn will be done by the end of the year.

the point is with bev gone to n3,know dn will do it alot faster when time comes thats forsure since bev has worked out any bugs,but the end com-on the coders love a challenge.

what's going to happen is already written, the only ? is how long will it take,

looking for timelines etc and guessing at them is unrealistic,

while there is still channels that are not dark there won't be any fixes, YES Nfusion has a bandage patch that gets back a handfull of subbed channels, most likely using a card sharing technique.

Right now it's a waiting game, once everything is dark and the coders get things done, things will happen again.

Because if it can be encrypted it can be decrypted! only thing in the way is time!

we will just have to wait and see.never know what tomorrow will bring..but i sure do hope that every thing will work out.

sorry for the dumb question, years ago i was into dtv and the rumrs started that it will be all over and it was...!! got into fta few months ago, and still learning, question is , if direct was never hacked then why are we all so sure that n3 will be?

As I said earlier, whatever they encrypted into n3 can be decrypted it is call reverse
Engineering, however this needs the right equipment and a great deal of time and patients. Time is the answer to all the questions that is been asked now. I hope the coders will be able to crack this n3 technology soon.

ive always had the opinion one day they will out engineer us either by too hard or too costly.
i mean they pay millions to security firms to develop this, so far they have all failed but dtv and sc.
lets hope they still left a few holes open.

i guess it is possible that our current boxes may not handle n3 but highly doubtful. but if that would be the case all that would mean as soon as a fix was out and the new boxes would hit the market we would all have to buy new ones. tell me would that be so bad. i have definatly gotten my moneys worth out of my current boxes. just my $.02 worth

it'll be fine sooner or later, but you may have to be patient...

dont for get theres a lot of other really cool stuff out there on true fta if you care to play around with it and get a linear lnb and a 30" dish or larger. some people may not want to but i do it all the time, its really what these boxes were made for. since you have one you might as well use it? if not id be more than happy to buy it from you for about $30 - $40 bucks hehe
