Read this on a legit (true) FTA board, a well-known one that i'm sure others here scan through..

Today I got a automated call from Dxxx saying a minute long boring message about smartcards. Apparently my new smartcard will be there within 10 days and I was given instructions why and how I needed to change the smartcard. My 722 was one of the last batches before the purple cards were used so they must be down to the last customers that need new cards.
Anyone else get a call today about smartcards?

The thread had some comments... Responses were that others had also received calls, but doubted the 10 day arrival time on cards. Still, others also said they'd already received and swapped cards on multiple receivers. Did not seem to make it clear whether these users were International channel subs or not though.
Incidentally, I keep reading in other posts around that "come February" they are really going to get to work on 110,119,129 (western arc) customers that currently call in wanting to repoint themselves to over to the Eastern Arc... Sounds to me like they'll have a system complimenting Eastern Arc/N3 in place by then so these people will not have to, but I could be wrong there. However, considering that newer system is also MP4, that seems like a bold statement to me--unless MP4 isn't part of the goal.
