I would think DN would throw a ECM today rather it be a new mapcall or a old mapcall or a timer function.

Since there is probably the BIGGEST UFC PPV of the year at the end of the year....

Odds tell you there will probably be a ECM today.

I'm not starting a Rumour but I just woke up and my channels are Scrambled! Lets hope its the weather outside!

Its the weather b.c they are getting nasty about it for the last few PPVs.

Like doing the ECM a hour before it starts or right before it starts...... So the coders dont have time to work on it before the PPV.

I hope IM WRONG..... I HOPE ITS CLEAR and wide open with no problems.

Well, I don't like to think negative, but yes the last few ppv it has gone out at 4 pm central time EXACTLY 4 pm...... So, if the same holds true, the AWESOME coders have been getting it up by 10 pm sometimes even before 9 pm central time..... and the fight starts at 9 pm.... GO CODERS!!

hmmm I say the odds are good they do something but not going to be anything complex and gurantee it is something that has been tried before as well, so suggest if it goes black try some old bins.

Look for one early new years day as well, before the football starts or immediately after it starts.

It will probably be the same type of deal as well, nothing new but an inconvenience, last thing these guys want to do right now is PO any subs

What I thought they were going to do with the Oscar DeLay Hoya vs Manny Pacman fight was let it go fine for the whole PPV meaning the undercard..

Then right when the main event starts.. Right before round 1 starts we see scrambled channel.

That would SUCK...

However it seems most of you agree they will probably do somthing today...

Hopefully its a old bin and some units like CNX and Captive works dont even get effected.

I have seen that happen with captive works a few times and seen it happen with CNX many many times.

However I think somthing will happen today hopeing its early as possible to give coders time..

however its holidays so perhaps they are all OFF today.. Who knows..

I'm sure they would still have a job.. Look at DTV.. They still work on the security of there system even though its pretty tough to tackle.

Testing, testing, 1-2-3. Best to have a backup plan in place (just in case you understand)....

Keith, come on, lighten up a little. Yes, perhaps it's best to put it in the humor section, since that's all it really is. Whether it happens or not today, is just something we got used to experiencing before a major PPV event. Yes, we don't know more than anyone else here. So yeah, just BSing, but nothing more.

What is this UFC stuff ? Why would it be a big deal? most people I know including myself have NEVER watched it EVER!.
I think folks put way to much importance in their own pet shows, and think they are somehow a target, when Many people never even watch a lot of this stuff.
What does it matter if a ecm comes out or not? Even if I knew and I told you the exact second that it would take place, WHAT DIFFERENCE WOULD THAT MAKE? Would you do anything different?

I agree with Keith. Thing is, why give them idea of shutting off 5 mins into fight, I am sure they think of that, but know if something happens with those who pay it is BIG trouble. I love my free ppv and WANT to watch the UFC, but I also understand that if it goes out, OH WELL! My box has more than paid for itself, and I have a sub.... if I have to fork out $50, I will.... I know we are all having FUN speculating, and I did earlier, too! In the past it has been 4 CST. If it is on after that I feel safe.... but, I won't be shedding tears either way.... well maybe a little:) It's been interesting!

Here we go with predictions. I don't know the rest you guys but I am really tiered of always seeing new post with an eventual ecm. If it happens it happens if not then not. We can't control that and certainly don't get anything out of posting anything on a maybe ecm.

You are wrong Nagravision simply leases the system to many providers DN is one of them. The providers decide how and when they will use that product(NAGRAVISION) Not the company that they lease the rights from.

the only thing that could be worse than missing a UFC event completly is watching the ppv and having it freeze for a minute right when Wanderlai Silva delivers a lethal knock out knee to rampage's head.
