LYNN, Mass. -- Authorities said they have found 27 New York Giants Super Bowl rings -- valued at $172,000 -- allegedly stolen last June from a Massachusetts jewelry company.
Police said investigators found the rings Tuesday in a bank safe deposit box in Saugus. Authorities said the rings are the original rings slated to be sent to the New York Giants team members, including quarterback Eli Manning.
Kristen Sullivan, 22, of Lynn, was one of three people arrested Friday in the $2 million robbery of E.A. Dion Inc. in Attleboro on June 8. State police spokesman David Procopio said Sullivan was the one who rented the safe deposit box, and that she remained held on a charge of receiving stolen property over $250.
Sullivan pleaded not guilty at an arraignment Tuesday, and will next face a pretrial hearing scheduled for Feb. 27 on a new charge as a result of the discovery of the rings.
According to court documents, police found one of the stolen Super Bowl rings in Murphy's bedroom, jewelry in his car and rare coins in a bank safe deposit box. Authorities also found an unfinished New York Giants Super Bowl ring, according to Essex Assistant District Attorney Susan Dolhun.
On Monday, Sean Murphy, 44, of Lynn, pleaded not guilty to receiving stolen property and was ordered held on $250,000 bail.
The judge ordered Murphy held on $250,000 bail, and continued the case until Wednesday for a pretrial hearing. The judge also revoked Murphy's bail on a pending case, where he faces domestic assault and battery, and marijuana charges.
Murphy's lawyer said his client looks forward to his day in court. It was not immediately determined if Sullivan has an attorney.
Murphy's ex-girlfriend, Rikkile Brown, 21, of Peabody, also pleaded not guilty at her arraignment Monday on a charge of receiving stolen property over $250.
