bluemaxmkh 03-09-2009, 07:09 PM Ever wonder how many Sats and how much Space Junk is Up there ? Read this yesterday: Since Oct. 4, 1957, when the Soviet Union jolted the world by launching Sputnik, about 6100 Satellites have been launched into orbit. Some 2775 of them have decayed, leaving 3325 satellites currently in service. Unfortunately about 9850 pieces of Space Junk are in orbit along with them. :\:)

No doubt!
There will probably be some meth-head that figures out a way to scrap this stuff. It seems like meth-heads have figured out ways to scrap everything else, including bridges.
Lots of gold in those satellites. Aluminum, titanium, platinum, and copper as well. We are talking big bucks to someone who figures out a way to do that!
