Iran launches first nuclear fuel plant

Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad has inaugurated the country's first Fuel Manufacturing Plant (FMP) in the central city of Isfahan.

As the country celebrated the National Nuclear Day on Thursday, President Ahmadinejad cut the ribbon at the fuel facility in Isfahan marking a major breakthrough in Iran's disputed nuclear program.

The launch of the Isfahan facility marks Iran's mastery of the final stage of the lengthy nuclear fuel production process.

The FMP in Isfahan will convert enriched uranium hexafluoride into uranium dioxide (UO2) powder which will later be processed into pellet form.

The pellets will then be stacked into tubes of corrosion-resistant metal alloy called fuel rods.

The finished fuel rods will then be assembled together to build up the nuclear fuel core of a power reactor.

Riddle me this, why would a country that has more oil than they have water to drink build a nuclear plant. Answer: because they are f'ing geniuses. There becoming a self sufficient nation as they peddle their black gold to countries like the U.S. because we are too busy talking about making solar panels and 12 volt batteries to solve our energy crises. I become less confident in the good ol’ usa every day.

Iran has the right to build a nuclear power plant for it people, ( like the usa etc etc ). but will thay only use it for that or will thay use it on us or some one else. ya think we should just look away from them haveing this! i think thay have let the world know thay should not have (nuclear power yet)

Read up on the NPT. This is perfectly within their legal rights, so what's the problem? "We are afraid" is not a legal justification to stop them.

All this talk about bombing Iran is just that... talk. If all we can do is talk, we'd be better off talking TO them instead of talking AT them.

the world is not safe because the US, they just want small country to be their b***h, and drain them from resources to keep their people happy and make other country die of hunger, look at Iraq getting oil for free, and other nations where the US has combat soldiers.
