I'm no expert of slingers but from what I understand its only able to share what the sub card is allowed to view. That means PPV/Porn etc would not work. That's assuming this is the same hardware that I have read about.

The last I seen was from a week ago that said....
"487 and 492 still working (with frequent freezing) others now black/solid orange"

As far as I'm concerned, the slinger hasn't proven itself yet. Give it time.

Any public iks set up that has a half of a brain should not cheap out but add anything you can buy on the sub you are sharing, see the math is simple for you to go pay for full blown sub it would be close to $200 month (steep) but if you are sharing it with 100 people then it works out to $2 bucks a peep. They were wise to add a few extra channels to generate sales.

Its confirmed that Porn channels are able to be subbed on Dish. Porn is open for Slinger users
Channels 492, 495 and 496 so far.

last bev channel list had bev all open yes all open porn and ppv now i don't have a slinger box cost around 200 usf, but if this is so then i would have to say its more then a card share its a hack the list i saw was for the slinger site

They just on the April 13 moved everything to a new server and that will open up more bandwidth for more channels and cause less freezing. They are also adding some local channels or at least the ABC, CBS,NBC, FOX, etc. to the channel list. They had just released a new bin file that will be alot better.

wonder if there should be a section somewhere on this site for slinger... start to build up the bins, info etc one needs... this thread could get very long if its the only one on slinger...

Okay there is in fact one porn channel working. Channel 482. It is a PPV channel but most of the time it contains pornography.

Saw a slinger in person today and the hardcore porn was in fact, not working. The softcore channels were but nothing else porn wise. It was also freezing like hell and according to the guy who showed it to me, it's been like that pretty much from the get go. Personally I'm not sure they (the slinger guys) are doing much of anything that other IKS boxes aren't, except of course most IKS FTA are running pretty well rock solid. The big difference is that you loose the advantage of an FTA box, that is being able to get both providers on one box plus all the true FTA sats.

As someone earlier in the thread said, people should consider waiting on the slinger and let it prove itself before spending money on one.

sounds like junk to me. i am happy with he channels get now with my fta receiver.over 300 channels form echostar 119 and 110 west.

plus i have dtv for backup.

i can live with out the porn, ppv channels, and international channels.i only can under stand english.

Could this be a possible solution for Emunation IKS/Card Sharing. Would love more info. I know this can do Card Sharing, but could it be an additional IKS solution?

slinger does have bad freezing,and been there since the start,even after a new server,its still freezing,i would say wait before buying,maybe that will make the fix it faster,they sure moving slow right now

Hmmm....yes, a little early to say what will eventually work and what will eventually end up in the junk parts bin. If you are FTA only, it may be a bit of a wait. If you go with providers IRDs, then you may have more options. That's why the hobbiests don't stick to one system alone. Right now from other boards I am once again seeing discussion of Dreambox, AVRs, emulation, and even card sharing using point to point server systems. At last, some fun again with this hobby!

Man you are **** what the hell do you think your N Fusions, Neosat, Neusat are on ??? The same dam Internet setup and logic. There is a member in this post that has been updating all of you on what channels that the slingler is able to view and some of you still don't believe that he is telling the truth.

Did you all know slingler works with N Fusion now too ??? Maybe the future that all FTA stb's go???

It is IKS/CardSharing and I like what you said if slingler lost its channels same if N fusion did just say LOL I would rather the FTA just because of the true FTA sat's.

It all comes down to witch will last the longest with the best support and with there continue support. slingler is used with a Bev/Dish receivers you may see it work on some FTA in the near future but its still in its beginning stage.

FTA coders may just use a gadget like this for some of its units like Pansat & other models that don't have a Ethernet connection on them. Capitan has a dongle box you can buy for IKS even Coolsat as of yet I don't think they are up and working thought. This is the worse that could happen if no hack is available.

FTA + IKS = Bev & Dish

You also have the ability to set up your own private cardshare with the slinger although costly because everyone needs one but I suppose 20 or so on one would be ideal you could also pool some cash and share ppv and porn if ya wanted

careful that site is over price, better of with fta box more provider to choose from.
