Little birds have whispered in my ears that CNX will be releasing their version of the IKS dongle for the Nano late this week.

This is only semi good news for end users as it adds another player to the IKS game but is a reckless TCP IP logging version which, compared to others on UDP, is less safe a method of connectivity.

Please don't ask for proof in the news, don't insult me or belittle me, or PM me for further news.

nano and ilynk are the same, Ilynk has it, therefore cnx nano flashes too!!!

The bad part of the rumor is that it is does not work with the duo or trio. As a duo owner i hope this is not true....

Does it work with mini?

Well the Ilink is probably my favorite IKS box and I've tested Nfusion, K-Box, SV elite, Premier, & 8000hds. The reason why I like it so much is:

(1)The picture....SD never looked so good.
(2)You can actually tell if the iks is connected to the server for they have "connected" on the bottom of the channel menu... How crazy is that?
(3)The IKS works perfectly and it's pretty new to the game
(4) The box connects with the server and actually tells you if the software is "current" or not.... again how crazy is that nfusions simply down load another copy of the software and Presto! the channel list is gone?!
(5)They have Spanish and 5 adults going on IKS for the last month!!

so if the cnx did do a dongle it would be the Ilink dongle and that's great!!!

I just hope the Mini works with the Dongle ? I no the boxes are very similar .

ya just different programming but if it doesn't no big deal i will spend the $119 for a new CNX box they deserve my money they are fast a efficient coders

but I would be very surprised if the dongle only work for nano as that wouldn't make sense to screw over the more "advanced" boxes

This sounds good, but how is their support, and how long will it last! That goes for all IKS systems! When N1 went down I purchased an Ipro 1000, they only had DN and kept promising BEV, which never happened! On top of that, it was always going down! Shortly after the standalone fix happened Ne#sat dropped their support for the 1000 so they could concentrate on the sale and promotion of the 2000. Since then I lost all faith in IKS. Plus I'll never buy an Ne#sat product!:mad:

CNX has only announced one other receiver and it is the CNX Carbon HD and Nano is jsut a upgrade from the Mini but they all use the same files

u can load the trio file on a Mini and so forth

I love CNX and there team has been faithful for a while look at the recievers... they have had 5 recievers release since 2006... only 1 has stopped support and they offered an upgrade when the stopped and that was CNX version 1

also nfusion servers are not reliable what so ever they are either going down on the system freezes up... not reliable what so every but that is not what this thread is about

CNX Rocks! I'm sure their IKS solution will be solid. Maybe they will launch the Carbon HD now... didn't they announce the Carbon 1 1/2 - 2 years ago?
