the more providers the better! im tired of paying high prices for local channels. LOCAL CHANNELS are intended to be free so that you can hear the news thats happening in your community.

Very big question there "if it gets past CRTC". You know the fate of Globalive Telecom company tried only to be shut down by crtc. It is an example of corporate manipulation to keep competition away and protect the existing lobyists this may meet the same result. Good Luck?

Globalive was stopped by the CRTC because of ownership rules. Nothing else. The rules were clearly set out before. Globalive is now trying to get the rules changed as well as looking at how they can change the ownership of the company. Once ownership is within the guidelines, they are up and running from what I have read.

I hope we do get more competition.

Bell TV has just announced that they have 100 HD channels. Of course the comments I am hearing is they are as good as Shaw Direct's SD channels.

I hope they succeed and maybe they will use something easily cracked...like an older encryption
